Demolition of surface wash sweeps, replacement of filter media with addition of GAC, installation of new air scour system with blower and control modifications, replacement of electric valve actuators, and related piping instrumentation and electrical work for existing four filters at 3.87 MGD water treatment plant. This project is being funded by a loan from the State Revolving Fund (SRF) and bidders must comply with all applicable state and federal requirements identified in the bid documents, including Davis-Bacon and "American Iron and Steel"(AIS) provisions. Bidders must implement procedures that ensure that Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) firms are given opportunities for meaningful participation. Additional information can be found in SRF Appendix A located within the specifications. BABA is not required for this project. The work will consist of improvements to the existing filters at the 3.87 MGD water treatment plant (WTP) as follows: 1. Demolition of the existing surface wash sweeps and filter media in Filter No. 1, 2, 3 and 4. 2. Installation of an air scour system, including one blower and controls, air piping and valves, air scour piping and diffusers in each filter, and filter console modifications. 3. Installation of new filter media in each filter, including support gravel, silica sand, anthracite, and granular activated carbon. 4. Removal and replacement of electric actuators for existing valves in the Filter Gallery (Alternate No. 1). 5. All related process piping, instrumentation, electrical equipment and wiring.
