Rickwood Road Utility Relocations In General, the Project Includes Approximately 2,050 Feet of 6" and 12" Ductile Iron Water Mains, 2,000 Feet of 2", 4", and 6" Gas Mains and Associated Water/gas Services, Railroad Bores, and Connections to Existing Water/gas Mains. Project Includes: Approximately 100' of 6" DI Water Main Approximately 1,950' of 12" DI Water Main Approximately 1,150' of 2" PE low pressure gas main Approximately 180' of 4" PE low pressure gas main Approximately 550' of 6" PE low pressure gas main Approximately 120' of 6" welded steel high pressure gas main Approximately 90' of 4" DI Gravity Sewer Main Railroad Bores (1 @ 120' w/ 20" casing & 1 @ 120' w/ 12" Casing) Paving, Testing, and Cleanup Proposals Shall Be Accompanied by a Bid Bond or a Cashier's Check in an Amount Not Less Than Five Percent (5%) of the Total Bid Price or $10,000 Payable Without Recourse to the City of Florence, Al. Check or Bid Bond Shall Be Provided as a Guarantee That the Bidder Will Enter Into a Contract and Execute Performance and Payment Bonds Within Fourteen (14) Days After Notice of Award. The Successful Bidder Shall Furnish a Performance Bond in the Amount of 100% of the Contract Price and Payment Bond in the Amount of 50% of the Contract Price Upon the Forms Provided. Performance and Payment Bonds Shall Be From an Approved Surety Company Holding a Permit From the State of Alabama to Act as Surety. This Project is Considered a "public Works" Project and is Governed by Competitive Bid Laws as Contained in Title 39 (1997) of the Alabama Code. Bidders, Subcontractors, Suppliers, and Bond Agents Should Be Familiar With This Code. The Attention of All Bidders is Called to the Provisions of State Law Governing "general Contractor", as Set Forth in Ala.code 34-8-1, Et Seq. (1975), and Rules and Regulations Promulgated Pursuant Thereto. Also Reference to Title 39-3-5,1975 (a) in the Letting of Public Contracts in Which Any State, County, or Municipal Funds Are Utilized, Except Those Contracts Funded in Whole or in Part With Funds Received From a Federal Agency, Preference Shall Be Given to Resident Contractors, and a Nonresident Bidder Domiciled in a State Having Laws Granting Preference to Local Contractors Shall Be Awarded Alabama Public Contracts Only on the Same Basis as the Nonresident Bidder's State Awards Contracts to Alabama Contractors Bidding Under Similar Circumstances; and Resident Contractors in Alabama, as Defined in Section 39-2-12, Be They Corporate, Individuals, or Partnerships, Are to Be Granted Preference Over Nonresidents in Awarding of Contracts in the Same Manner and to the Same Extent as Provided by the Laws of the State of Domicile of the Nonresident.(B) a Summary of This Law Shall Be Made a Part of the Advertised Specifications of All Projects Affected by This Law. The Owner Reserves the Right to Reject Any or All Bids, to Waive Irregularities in the Bids and Bidding Deemed to Be in the Best Interests of the Owner, and to Reject Non-conforming, Non-responsive, or Conditional Bids.
