The City of Beaufort is seeking proposals from qualified contractors to perform storm water drainage improvements along Otter Circle from 1141 Otter Circle to 1149 Otter Circle in the Battery Shores Neighborhood to alleviate persistent local ponding and stormwater drainage issues. Equal Employment Opportunity Question Deadline 11/25/2024 at 4:00 PM ET SCOPE OF SERVICES The City of Beaufort plans to implement stormwater drainage improvements along Otter Circle from 1141 Otter Circle to 1149 Otter Circle in the Battery Shores Neighborhood to alleviate persistent local ponding and stormwater drainage issues. This project consists of the following improvements: 1. Regrading drainage ditches along Otter Circle to re-establish positive conveyance to the existing drainage infrastructure from 1141 Otter Circle to 1149 Otter Circle 2. Extension of a piped drainage system outfall into Battery Creek with minor dredging of accumulated sediment within the outfall area between 1147 and 1149 Otter Circle 3. Construction of a driveway culvert and yard inlet to alleviate ponding at 1149 Otter Circle 4. Dredging of an existing stormwater pond across from 1149 Otter Circle Sediment has accumulated within the pond, roadside ditches and the storm drain outfall into the Battery Creek marshes impacting conveyance capacity resulting in ponded stormwater within the project area. Additionally due to the accumulated sediment within the stormwater pond, the pond's water quality treatment ability has been reduced. The project will remove this accumulated sediment within the pond and drainage conveyances, eliminate areas of ponding water and extend the drainage outfall into the marsh to improve the outfall's conveyance ability. Additionally, the pond will be deepened to allow for improved water quality and to reduce the frequency of future dredging requirements
