Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Covert, Michigan. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field; for paving for a playground / park / athletic field; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.

The work for which bids are being requested consists of the following: Contract The base bid includes replacing the deck, stairs, and railing for the 650-foot long boardwalk located in Covert Township Park. The boardwalk traverses from the parking lot over the dune to the beach. Included in the bid are two alternates; one to use composite decking in lieu of treated and one to replace the boardwalk in its entirety. The project is located in a Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy Critical Dune Area. This project will require Davis Bacon wages as outlined in Section 10. The goal of the Township is to update the boardwalk to the extent that the budget dollars allow. The contractor and all subcontractors must comply with all requirements of 1976 PA 453 (Elliott Larsen Civil Rights Act), the 1976 PA 220 (Persons with Disabilities Civil Rights Act) and Executive Directive 2019-09, as amended. In accordance with these laws, all contracts the grantee enters into must contain a covenant by the contractor and any subcontractors not to discriminate against an employee or applicant for employment with respect to hire, tenure, terms, conditions or privileges of employment, or a matter directly or indirectly related to employment, because of race, color, religion, national origin, age, sex, height, weight, marital status, partisan considerations, or a disability or genetic information that is unrelated to the individual's ability to perform the duties of a particular job or position. The OWNER reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any irregularities in bidding. The use of local contractors and labor is encouraged. A certified check or bank draft drawn on a solvent bank in the State of Michigan payable without condition to the OWNER or a satisfactory bid bond executed by the bidder and a surety company, in an amount equal to 5 percent of the bid shall be submitted with each bid. No bids may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids for at least ninety (90) days. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a satisfactory Performance Bond and a Labor and Material Bond in the amount of 100 percent of the Contract price.
