The opinion of probable construction cost for this contract is $44,204,131.00. The Park Boulevard Extension Paving and Drainage Improvements project includes construction of 4-lanes of an ultimate 6-lane divided roadway from just west of Parker Road to just north of State Highway 78 with an underground storm sewer system, a 1,300-foot bridge over the Kansas City Southern (KCS) railroad, open channels and culverts. Other major items of work include construction of embankment and retaining walls for elevated sections of the roadway, unclassified roadway excavation, reinforced concrete pavement and sidewalks, storm sewers, culverts and headwalls, inlets and manholes, concrete rip-rap and protection stone rip-rap, signs and pavement markings, metal beam guard fence, and railing. Additional items of work include removal of existing reinforced concrete and asphalt pavement, temporary traffic handling devices and temporary asphalt pavement and other items to provide a complete operable section of roadway. Bidders shall use lump sum pricing. Contractor must furnish a performance, payment and maintenance bond within ten (10) consecutive calendar days following award of contract. Funds for payment have been provided through the Collin County budget approved by the Commissioners Court for this fiscal year only. The Commissioners Court reserves the right to reject any and all bids. Bid Bond, certified check or Cashier's Check may be mailed or hand delivered to the Office of the Collin County Purchasing Agent, Collin County Administration Building, 2300 Bloomdale Road, Ste 3160, McKinney, TX 75071 and shall be delivered in an envelope, marked plainly on the outside with the Bid Name and Number. The Contractor shall post with Owner, not later than ten (10) consecutive calendar days of Collin County Commissioners Court award of Contract, a Payment Bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the total contract price in such form as is satisfactory to Owner, in compliance with Chapter 2253 of the Texas Government Code and all other applicable Texas Law, and on the form specified in the Contract Documents. This bond shall be executed by a corporate surety company duly authorized and admitted to do business in the State of Texas and licensed to issue such a bond in the State of Texas. The Contractor shall notify its corporate surety of any Contract changes.
