Renovation of a mixed-use development in Charlotte, North Carolina. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
Renovation of approximately 7,500 square feet to accommodate the expansion of the Public Defender's Office staff. The expansion space will accommodate additional attorneys and their support staff, as well as meeting space and other administrative uses. The existing space is currently occupied by Juvenile Justice, which will be relocated to the renovated former Civil Courts Building, assuming approval of that project. As of May 12, 2025, this project is included in the county's 2027-2032 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). It is still in the conceptual phase. Design work is not expected to begin until 2027. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
