Renovation of a service station / car wash facility in Newton, Iowa. Completed plans call for the renovation of a service station / car wash facility.
A lump-sum bid shall be submitted on forms supplied as part of the proposed contract documents. Bid shall cover: A. Public Works Wash Bay including: 1. General, Civil, Structural, Architectural, Mechanical, and Electrical Construction Work Each bid shall be accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check on an Iowa bank, or bid bond acceptable to the Owner. The bid security shall be in the amount of 5% of the bid. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a performance and payment bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price guaranteeing faithful performance of the contract and guaranteeing payment to all persons supplying labor and/or materials in the execution of the work provided for in the contract. The City Council of Newton, Iowa reserves the right to reject any or all bids received or to waive informalities and irregularities and reserves the right to consider the responsibility of the Bidder. The City of Newton may defer acceptance of any bid for a period not to exceed sixty (60) days, pending necessary details. A Pre-Construction Conference will be held at Public Works Director's Office, 303 W 4th Street S, Suite 501, Newton, Iowa 50208, at 2:00 pm on Tuesday January 21st, 2025. The meeting will begin in the City Council Chamber. Tours of the site will be offered following the Pre-Bid Conference
