As of January 29, 2025 project was awarded to Hancock and Sons Construction, awarded amount is $1,520,668.50. The Work to be completed for the 2022 GEFA Water System Improvements is described briefly as follows: In general, construction shall consist of installation of approximately 9,600 LF of 8" and 12" water main. The water main will be installed through a combination of open cut and jack and bore methods. The project also includes preliminary potholing/investigative work, tying into existing mains, installation of fire hydrants, service transfers, and asphalt/concrete removal and replacement for impacted areas. Contractor License: Any Contractor submitting a bid must be licensed by the State of Georgia. Bids shall be accompanied by a bid bond or certified cashier's check in an amount not less than 5% of the base bid. All bonds shall be by a surety company licensed in Georgia with an "A" minimum rating of performance and a financial strength of at least five (5) times the contract price as listed in the most current publication of "Best's Key Rating Guide Property Liability". Performance and Payment Bonds, each in an amount equal to 100% of the contract price shall be required of the successful bidder if contract is awarded. Owner reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, including without limitation, the rights to reject any or all nonconforming, nonresponsive, unbalanced or conditional Bids and to reject the Bid of any Bidder if Owner believes that it would not be in the best interest of the Project to make an award to that Bidder, whether because the Bid is not responsive or the Bidder is unqualified or of doubtful financial ability or fails to meet any other pertinent standard or criteria established by the Owner. All of the equipment and materials specified herein are intended to be standard for use in controlling the flow of water, sludge, chemicals, etc., depending on the applications. A. Contractor shall furnish all materials and labor for the installation and continuous maintenance of traffic control devices throughout the project. B. This item of work shall include furnishing, installing, maintaining, relocating and removing all traffic control devices used for the purpose of regulating, warning or directing traffic during the construction or maintenance of this project. C. Upon completion of work, warning devices are to be removed by the Contractor. If devices remain on site longer than ten (10) days after project completion, they shall be removed by the Owner and become his property.
