As of November 22, 2024, an engineer has been selected and design is complete. It is anticipated bidding will commence and construction will start in 2025. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: Scope of Services Carter Park Water Tower (1985) and Western Water Tower (1986) are each 1.5MG hydropillar fluted column steel elevated water tanks connected to the Bowling Green water distribution system. Each Water Tower is expected to require cleaning, prepping, and painting of the exterior surfaces, the interior dry surfaces, and the interior wet surfaces; adding a handrail and rigging rail to the roof of the towers; increasing the diameter of the access tubes and roof hatches; installing an access ladder; adding a mixer and THM aeration removal system; exterior lighting and security improvements; and any other potential recommendations from the selected engineering firm. The firm selected will provide surveying, detailed engineering design, permitting, construction plans, specifications, contract documents, and bidding assistance. The firm will also provide example paint schemes and layouts for the exterior surfaces including lettering and color options. Construction services will include construction administration, observation, and inspection. Attendance and participation at public meetings may be required.
