The Virginia Department of Transportation (herein referred to as "VDOT") is soliciting bids from qualified firms to perform un-planned/on-call hourly tree pruning, brush and small tree removal services for Area Headquarters (AHQ) located within the Loudoun Residency in the Northern Virginia District along highway right-of-way on primary and secondary routes. Work will be performed on an on-call, as needed basis. PERIOD OF CONTRACT: One year from date of award with four (4), one (1) year renewal options Any questions regarding this invitation for bid shall be submitted in writing to nasir.chhipa@vdot.virginia.gov no later than 5 business days, prior to the closing date. The issuing office shall determine whether any addendum should be issued as a result of any questions or other matters raised. A. SCOPE OF WORK: 1. The Contractor shall provide all supervision, labor, equipment, fuel, and traffic control, to include all equipment and flaggers as required in accordance with the most recent version of the Virginia Work Area Protection Manual (VWAPM), and all other incidentals necessary to successfully perform un-planned on-call hourly tree trimming, pruning, brush and small tree removal services as stated herein. 2. Hourly tree trimming, brush, and small tree removal services shall consist of, but not be limited to, single limb removal, sight distance improvement, sight obstruction clearance, roadway clearance, general pruning, and disposal of all generated debris. Determination of need will be made at the sole discretion of VDOT on a case-by-case basis. 3. The Contractor shall be capable of providing a minimum of two crews and equipment when requested by VDOT. Failure to provide sufficient crews may result in the issuance of a Procurement Complaint form and may result in default of contract. Reference X. General Terms and Conditions, paragraph P. DEFAULT. 4. The Contractor shall be capable of commencing work within seven (7) calendar days of award of contract.
