The scope of work includes, but is not limited to, the following Mobilization, Bonding, Insurance, and Permits. Submittal preparation, review, and approval. Testing of existing coatings to verify and quantify lead concentrations. Establishing a containment area with appropriate environmental controls, including dust and waste collection, abrasive blast separation, and heating & venting, etc. Establishing worker safety systems & procedures. Provide measures to ensure that the Provo River is protected from coating wastes or other pollutants from reaching its banks or polluting its waters. Unbolting and moving the existing gates to the containment area with a crane. (Both the Pipe Gate & the River Gate as awarded). Concrete cutting & demolition of existing concrete pillow blocks for the Pipe Gate. Construction of new concrete hinge supports for the Pipe Gate. Work includes drilling and doweling rebar into the existing concrete structure. Removal of the existing coatings by abrasive blast cleaning to a near-white metal finish profile. Inspection of the existing gates, provide surface repairs as needed (welding and grinding). Proper application and curing of the coating system. Installing new (Owner furnished) gate seals. The Owner will furnish the new gates seals and the seal attachment bolts. Moving the gates back in place with a crane and connecting & bolting them in position. Quality control testing and documentation. Includes concrete testing, blasting profile testing, and coating application testing and documentation.
