The general nature of the public improvement is: The demolition/retirement of existing 34.5kV arresters, fuses, group-operated switch, insulators, transformer concrete pad, and existing 34.5kv-4.16Y/2.4kV substation transformer. The installation of new 69kV arresters, fuses, group-operated switches, transformer concrete pad, and 69x34.5kV-4.16Y-2.4kV substation transformer. Extension of existing substation fence, ground grid, and crushed rock. The work shall commence on the day indicated in the Notice to Proceed and shall be substantially complete on or before December 11, 2025, and completed and ready for final payment on or before January 8, 2026. Should the Contractor fail to complete the work in this timeframe, liquidated damages of $500 per calendar day for substantial completion and $500 per calendar day for final completion will be assessed for work not completed within the designated contract terms. Lenox Municipal Utilities reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive informalities and irregularities in the form of the bid, and to enter into such contract, or contracts, as it shall deem to be in the best interest of Lenox Municipal Utilities. A pre-bid conference will not be conducted for this Project. Question Deadline 12/31/2024 Bidder shall submit all questions about the meaning or intent of the Bidding Documents to Engineer in writing. Interpretations or clarifications considered necessary by Engineer in response to such questions will be issued by Addenda delivered to all registered plan holders. Questions received less than seven days prior to the date for opening of Bids may not be answered.
