Demolition, site work, renovation and addition to a recreation facility in Emporia, Kansas. Working plans call for the addition of a recreation facility; for the demolition of a recreation facility; for the renovation of a recreation facility; and for site work for a recreation facility.

As of August 13, 2025, this project has been awarded, construction is planned to start September 2025. The City of Emporia David Traylor Zoo is requesting BIDs to Expand and Renovate the King Vulture Exhibit at 60 Sodens Rd. The City will allow for expansion and renovation of the current exhibit and holding space. There are currently two exhibit spaces and one holding space. Proposals should include the following: King Vulture East Exhibit o Process (addition of winterization option for this space which allows for visitor viewing) o Process (addition of supplemental heating; automatic waterer; automatic misting system) o Process (addition of double door enclosed keeper access) o Material (must complement current surrounding area) o Post inspection by Zoo management to ensure proper installation King Vulture West Exhibit o Process (Expansion of space approximately 30' to the West) o Process (addition of supplemental heating; automatic waterer; automatic misting system) o Process (addition of double door enclosed keeper access) o Material (must complement current surrounding area) o Post inspection by Zoo management to ensure proper installation King Vulture Holding o Process (Redesign of holding caging to accommodate animal space and keeper space efficiently) o Process (upgrade heating, lighting, and ventilation of space) o Post inspection by Zoo management to ensure proper installation Schedule and Warranty o Working days needed to complete the project o Material warranty (must be at least 10 years) o Workmanship warranty (must be at least one (1) year)
