The work will be within the Scavenger Waste Facility and consists of the following: This work includes the removal and reconstruction of the existing reinforced concrete top slabs over Scavenger Waste Holding Tanks 1 and 2, including the removal and replacement of block walls, doors, the stairway in the northeast corner of the basement level, fan and louver. The work also includes replacement of the scavenger waste mechanical mixers, transfer pumps, piping and valves, and associated electrical and instrumentation in the basement and sub-basement levels of Scavenger Waste, as well as the addition of gas detection instrumentation, air handling unit and fans. The work includes the removal and disposal ofremaining grit/scavenger waste material in the holding tanks as well as lead paint abatement. The work shall be complete, in place and ready for continuous service, and shall include all necessary repairs, replacements and restorations as required resulting from damages and/or defective work during construction. This Project is to be bid as a single prime project since it incorporates a Project Labor Agreement /PLAY Bidders shall submit with their bids, a separate sealed list that names each subcontractor that the bidder will use to perform work on the contract, and the agreed-upon amount to be paid to each as applicable, for: (a) plumbing and gas fitting (Le., Plumbing Work), (b) steam heating, hot water heating, ventilating and air conditioning apparatus (i.e., HVAC Work which includes fire sprinkler) and (c) electric wiring and standard illuminating fixtures (i.e., Electrical Work). Bids shall be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond in an amount not less than five percent (5%) ofthe total Base Bid, made payable to the Suffolk County Comptroller. FAILURE TO PROVIDE THE REQUIRED SECURITY WILL RENDER THE BIDDER NON-RESPONSIVE AND THE BID WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED, OPENED, OR READ ALOUD. This bid bond will be held as a guarantee that in the event the bid is accepted and contract awarded to the Bidder, the contract will be duly executed and properly secured.
