Renovation of a municipal facility in Ames, Iowa. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.

Question Deadline 12/09/2024 at 4:30 PM CT Question Cuttoff Date & Time. Questions or requests for site visit received after this date and time will not be accepted. Overview: The Iowa Department of Transportation is seeking bids for a qualified contractor to: Replace Valent rooftop control unit at the Ames Print shop located on Iowa DOTs Main Campus, 800 Lincoln Way. Please see Attachment tab for photographs of the current units. Award: It is the intent of the Iowa DOT to award the contract to the responsible bidder whose submitted quotation is the most advantageous to the Iowa DOT, cost and other factors considered. Other factors include, but are not limited to: Meeting or exceeding mandatory requirements, proposed staffing, and meeting required time schedule. Other factors may also include a comprehensive review of bidders as work performance and work capacity. Estimated project start date- Upon issuance of Notice to Proceed (The date shall be coordinated with the IDOT Project Manager. (This is the estimated start date after all required documents are received (i.e., Insurance, performance bond and vendor signed contract). Estimated project end date- 01/15/2025 (This includes resolution to all punch list items, inspections and DOT acceptance typically used in construction bids) Taxes: This project is exempt from state sales tax. Project Timeline: Start and completion dates listed in this solicitation are desired dates. Bidders are welcome to propose other reasonable dates for DOT consideration based on but not limited to; lead time for materials, beginning or ends of seasonal periods, coordination and availability of subcontractors. If new dates are proposed, please see attribute #7. Communication: Until a contract is awarded the sole point of contact for the solicitation is the Purchasing Agent identified in the solicitation. All questions must be directed solely to the Purchasing Agent listed in the bid opportunity. We encourage vendor to upload all questions on or before the question cut off due date and time. Responses to questions will be communicated out to vendors via site. Bid Responses shall be submitted within site or signed and prepared in ink or typewritten in the solicitation documents provided. Telephonic, email or facsimile responses shall not be considered. Please post questions to site before the question cutoff deadline.
