GENERAL CONDITIONS The University of Hawaii's SPECIAL PROVISIONS and GENERAL PROVISIONS following these specifications shall be read by the Contractor as they form a part of the agreement to be entered into between the Contractor and the University of Hawaii. These SPECIAL PROVISIONS and GENERAL PROVISIONS accompanying these specifications shall govern all work specified hereinafter in all Divisions and Sections. DESCRIPTION OF BID PROPOSAL ITEMS Basic Bid: The project shall in general consist of, but is not limited to, selective demolition work to include certain existing walls, slabs, ceilings, roof, concrete, roof exhaust fans, fan coil units, chilled water and condensate piping, sheet metal, flexible and exhaust service air ducts, DOC controls, insulation, luminaires, electrical main switch, panels, wiring, conduits, circuit breakers, motor control center, and all incidental accessories, hardware, and supports as indicated or described in drawings. New work to include installation of new ceiling system, exterior concrete housekeeping equipment pads/bollards, enlarge opening through roof, patch wall opening, new roof exhaust fans, fan coil units, chilled water and condensate piping, sheet metal, flexible and exhaust service air ducts, insulation, connect to existing campus DOC controls system, new electrical main switch, panels, conduits, circuit breakers, luminaires, and all incidental accessories, structural supports, and hardware as indicated and specified hereinafter. Provide power and power outlets for all new mechanical equipment and their control devices. Paint all new items and all existing interior and exterior surfaces as indicated on drawings. CONTRACT TIME The contract time for this project shall be 210 consecutive calendar days from the effective date designated in the Notice to Proceed. From the effective date noted in the Notice to Proceed (NTP) letter, the Contractor shall proceed with his preparatory work such as: preparing and forwarding submittals, obtaining approvals, obtaining permits, and other work as approved by the University. No work shall be allowed at the job site and no ordering of materials shall be allowed until receipt of the Notice to Proceed letter, or upon earlier written notice from the University. The Contractor shall be responsible for any airfreight cost or overtime-cost differentials necessary to complete the project within the project contract time. Anticipated schedule on-site work starting March of 2025.
