This Contract provides for the construction of a new sidewalk along Solberg Street SE in the City of Yelm, WA. Work will consist of the construction of approximately 550 linear feet (300 square yards) of new sidewalk, as provided in these Bid and Contract Documents. The sidewalk will be located along the northwest side of Solberg Street SE, as shown on the Vicinity Map shown on the contract plans and details (Section 4). Question Deadline 12/09/2024 Requests for an interpretation in written form only to Patrick Hughes, P.E., via email at patrickh@yelmwa.gov prior to bid opening date, at least ten (10) days before the date announced for opening the bids All bid proposals shall be accompanied by a bid deposit by a cashier's or certified check or Bid Bond in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the amount of such bid proposal. Should the successful bidder fail to enter into a contract and furnish a satisfactory Performance Bond within the time stated in the specifications, the bid deposit or bond shall be forfeited to the City of Yelm. A Notice to Proceed will be given to allow the Contractor to proceed with document review and materials procurement prior to physical site work beginning. Physical work shall begin within 45 days of the Notice to Proceed or the execution of a Public Works Contract, whichever occurs later. The Contractor shall complete all work by April 30, 2025. The estimated construction cost is $90,000 to $110,000. The City of Yelm reserves the right to reject any and all bid proposals, waive any informalities or minor irregularities in the bidding, and determine which bid or bidder meets the criteria set forth in the Bid Documents. No bidder may withdraw his bid after the hour set for the opening thereof unless the award is delayed for a period exceeding thirty (30) days. All bid proposals shall be in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders and all other contract documents.
