The timeline for award has not yet been established.** It is the intent to procure services for landscaping at the Town of Islip Foreign Trade Zone (the "Foreign Trade Zone"). The office of the Town of Islip Foreign Trade Zone Authority (the "FTZ") is located, 1 Trade Zone Drive, Ronkonkoma, NY 11779. Contract shall be for one (1) year from date of award with the FTZ's option to renew the contract for two (2) one (1) year options under the same terms and conditions. The Contractor will have the responsibility of mowing the lawns, as well as edging and fertilizing (including weed and crab grass control). At least one (1) member of the Contractor's staff attending to the Foreign Trade Zone site shall be a skilled The Contractor will have the responsibility of mowing the lawns, as well as edging and fertilizing (including weed and crab grass control). At least one (1) member of the Contractor's staff attending to the Foreign Trade Zone site shall be a skilled gardener who has thorough knowledge of lawn maintenance and the care of plant life. The Contractor, accompanied by a representative of the FTZ shall carefully inspect all existing landscaped areas to determine the amount of new work necessary to correct all damaged areas. Contractor shall work diligently at all times to improve the quality of the FTZ's common area by seeding, weed control and fertilization. Contractor shall receive verbal authorization from the FTZ prior to seeding or aerating.. The Contractor shall provide an exterior flower program as approved by the FTZ in area located at the Veterans Memorial Highway entrance to the Foreign Trade Zone, under the directory sign located on Trade Zone Drive and 1 Trade Zone Drive front office. Two (2) installations of annual color will be provided. Material selections that can or would interfere with signage should be avoided. The Contractor shall keep plant beds free of weeds and debris on a weekly basis throughout the year. Control weeds with contact spray herbicide, hand-weeding and selective use of preemergent herbicides. Apply only at manufacturer's approved rates to avoid soil toxicity. Verify that herbicide is appropriate for use with various plant materials. Contractor is responsible for any damage incurred as a result of any and all applications and must repair or replace any such damage at no cost to the FTZ The policy(ies) naming the Town of Islip and the FTZ, as an additional insured, shall be: A-X or higher and authorized to conduct business in New York State Such coverage shall be primary and non-contributory FTZ Authority will be listed as an additional insured by using endorsement CG 20 10 11 85 or its equivalents The certificate must describe the specified services and sites of the work Question Deadline 12/13/2024 Every request for information or interpretation of the Contract Documents or drawings must be addressed in writing to Mr. Michael Rand, Town of Islip, Purchasing Department, 401 Main St., Room 227, Islip, NY 11751 and to be given any consideration must be received at least five (5) business days prior to date fixed for the opening of bids. Any such interpretation or supplemental instructions will be in the form of written addenda and will be mailed to all prospective bidders. The failure of any bidder to receive such addenda will not relieve the bidder of any obligation under his bid as submitted. Any addenda so issued shall become part of the Contract Documents. The Town of Islip and Ftz Reserve the Right to Waive Any Formality and/or Informality or to Reject Any or All Bids Received or to Award a Contract to One Or More Bidders for an Item, Group(S) of Items or All Items of the Bid, When in The Opinion of the Ftz, Such an Action Will Be in the Best Interest of the Town. In The Event Bids Are Rejected or No Bids Are Received, the Purchasing Department Is Authorized to Re-advertise for Bids.
