Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Klamath, California. Design plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; for paving for a bridge / tunnel; road / highway; road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.
Construction of an approximately 6,000-foot tunnel east of the existing highway to bypass landslide-prone areas. Scope includes tunnel excavation, portals, connecting roadways, bridges, drainage, safety systems, and operations and maintenance facilities. As of September 1, 2026, the Project Approval and Environmental Document (PA&ED) phase has been completed. This phase included environmental studies, preparation of the draft and final environmental documents, engineering analyses, public and agency coordination, selection of the preferred alternative, and receipt of the formal approvals required before detailed design could begin. The project is currently advancing through design and right-of-way support activities, while construction-related preparations are underway. The engineering consultant have not yet been determined Joint venture has been selected as the Construction Manager/General Contractor (CMGC). Construction is currently anticipated to begin in 2031.
