As of January 31, 2025, a consultant has been selected but a timeline for constructoin has not been established. Nash County is partnering with the Town of Middlesex and the North Carolina Railroad to develop an industrial park with rail access on property located along US 264A south of Middlesex an immediately east of NC 39. In order to serve the park with potable water, Nash County has agreed to assist the Town of Middlesex with expansion of their water distribution system to serve this site. Although additional elements may be identified as work to finalize the project elements commence, known elements of the overall project include the following major components: 1) Approximately 10,000 linear feet of 8" diameter water main along US 264A 2) Interconnection with proposed 125,000 gallon elevated water tank proposed on Massey Road The County does not have engineering staff necessary for the proposed activities. The County is soliciting proposals from qualified consulting firms to provide engineering services for the preliminary design, final design, construction administration, and construction observation to complete this project. The project is anticipated to be funded with local funds augmented with a grant provided by the North Carolina Railroad. Questions regarding this RFQ should be directed to Jonathan L. The County reserves the right to reject any and all submittals either in whole or in part. The County also reserves the right to (1) amend, modify, or withdraw this solicitation; (2) revise any requirement of this solicitation; (3) require supplemental statements or information from any responsible party; (4) extend the deadline for submission of responses hereto; (5) negotiate or hold discussions with any firm and to correct deficient responses which do not conform to the instructions herein; (6) cancel, or reissue in whole or in part, this solicitation, if the County determines in its sole discretion that it is in its best interest to do so; and (7) extend the term of any agreement on terms consistent with this procurement.
