Gay Street Closure Question Deadline 12/11/2024 at 5:00 PM ET Deadline to submit Questions Online Portal Project Description: The Contractor shall furnish and install movable bollards and all work associated within these specifications as necessary. This work includes the removal of existing concrete and stone curb, excavation trench for new curb, and the installation of granite curb. Granite curb replacement will be needed for areas disturbed during construction. This work includes the removal of existing sidewalk, excavation of existing base materials, the installation of new pigmented co ncrete as indicated on the plans. Concrete sidewalk replacement will be needed for any concrete sidewalk removal during construction. This work includes the removal of existing sidewalk, excavation of existing base materials, the installation of Class 4, Type A geotextile, stone subbase and bricks within the existing sidewalk. Brick Paver replacement will be needed for any brick pavers removed during construction. This work is the installation of Barrier Type HT2 at four locations in West Chester Borough. At the following locations: Gay Street at North Matlack Street Gay Street at North High Street (Western Leg) Gay Street at North High Street (Eastern Leg) Gay Street at North Darlington Street This work is the installation of a non-crash worthy fixed bollard at the intersection of Gay Street and North Matlack Street. This work is performing unforeseen work that is not indicated on the Contract Drawings. The work performed under this item will be determined by the Borough. Written approval by the Borough is required prior to the execution of any work under this item. A contingency allowance has been included with this contract. The use of the contingency allowance shall be only as directed by the engineer for the owner's purposes and only by change order that indicates amounts to be changed by allowance. At the end of the project, any unused portion of the contingency allowance shall be returned to the owner. A. Contractor shall provide all equipment, labor & materials required to clean and restore the site to at least the existing condition. B. Maintain premises and public properties free from accumulations of waste, debris and rubbish caused by work operations. C. At completion of work, remove waste materials, rubbish, tools, equipment, machinery and surplus materials; clean all sight exposed surfaces; leave project clean and ready for occupancy. D. At completion of work, restore or replace, when and as directed by the Engineer, any public or private property disturbed or damaged by Contractor's work operations to a condition at least equal to that existing prior to beginning work, or as otherwise specified. Materials, equipment and methods shall be approved by the Engineer.
