The project is expected to be awarded on March.** The City of Lake Forest is seeking qualified bidders for the resurfacing of tennis courts at Waveland Park (600 S Waveland Road). Work included in this contract consists of the resurfacing of the three (3) Tennis Courts and one (1) Basketball Court at Waveland Park (600 S Waveland Road), Lake Forest. Court Resurfacing Prior to the application of court surfaces or color system, the entire paved surface shall be flooded with water. All areas that hold water over the thickness of 1/16" shall be patched and leveled with acrylic patch binder. Prepare surfaces in accordance with manufacturer's instructions. Remove dirt, dust, debris, oil, grease, vegetation, loose materials, and other surface contaminants which could adversely affect application of asphalt tennis court surface color coating system. Cracks shall be cleaned to a depth of at least 3/4". Entire surface must be pressure washed. Inspect courts for any chips, cracks, 'birdbaths' (an area 1/8" under a 10' straight edge). Repair cracks with 100% acrylic crack filler, including trench drain, depressions, and surface defects in accordance with manufacturer's instructions before application of filler course and color coating. Level depressions 1/8" and deeper with patch binder in accordance with manufacturer's instructions. Structural cracks shall be cleaned of dirt and loose materials, sprayed with herbicide and sealed with acrylic patching compound. These cracks shall be feathered to blend with the surface. Armor or RiteWay Crack Repair systems will be installed over structural cracks. (shown on bid as Alternate Bid 1) Apply 2 coats of filler course as required by surface roughness and porosity to provide smooth underlayment for application of color coating. Apply 1-2 coats of acrylic asphalt tennis court surface color coating system in accordance with manufacturer's instructions. Lay out tennis court line markings in accordance with USTA Rules of Tennis. Color coat the surface with US Open color scheme: pale green OB, pale blue inner court and white lines. The City of Lake Forest reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, or to accept the proposal, or any item of any proposal, deemed by the City Council to be the most favorable to the interests of the municipality.
