The Frontier Regional School District (FRSD) will accept sealed bids for FIRE ALARM SYSTEM REPLACEMENT at 113 N. Main Street, South Deerfield, MA per MGL Ch149. DCAMM Certification required in ALARM SYSTEMS. 5% bid deposit/bond is required. Labor and Materials Payment and Performance Bonds both in the amount of 100% of the bid amount are required of the awarded contractor. Wage rates are subject to prevailing wage per MGL Ch149, Section 26 - 27f inclusive and are included in the bid package. The awarding authority is the FRSD. The FRSD reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids in total or in part as they may deem to be in the best public interest SUMMARY OF THE WORK Refer to the contract documents for a complete description of the work. The work involves removal of the existing system and providing a new system. Existing initiation devices are going to be replaced and wiring reused. The new system will annunciate by voice evacuation whereas the existing system is annunciated through horn strobes. The new system has more speaker strobes than the existing system which requires additional wiring. The new system also adds additional door holders, carbon monoxide detectors and detection devices. The Electrical Contractor is the General Contractor and is responsible for all portions of the project. This includes cutting and patching, ceiling work and maintenance of the job site. Note on Equipment Specifications: Any model/manufacturer name used in the specifications is either used because that specific type must be used to work properly with existing systems/equipment or to adequately describe the equipment and is deemed to be available from multiple suppliers. Any OR EQUAL bid submittals must be accompanied with a detailed explanation of why the substitute would be suitable or advantageous for the project.
