Asbestos abatement for a municipal facility in S Deerfield, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for asbestos abatement for an office development.

Hazardous materials abatement and disposal of all materials identified in the Hazardous Materials Report conducted by OTO Environmental. The general scope involves the removal of 9x9 floor tiles, other flooring, caulking, insulation and wall/ceiling materials / plaster. The 1888 building is a 3 story, former school building that has an approximate gross floor area of 10,000sf. Additional Information: The contractor must possess a current, valid Asbestos Contractor License issued by Massachusetts Occupational Safety for Lead & Asbestos. The scope of work includes the hazardous materials abatement and disposal of all materials identified in the Hazardous Materials Report conducted by OTO Environmental. The general scope involves the removal of 9x9 floor tiles, other flooring, caulking, insulation and wall/ceiling materials / plaster. The 1888 building is a 3 story, former school building that has an approximate gross floor area of 10,000sf. The building is vacant of any occupants. Either during or following the complete abatement process under this contract, the Town intends to advertise for separate bids for the full renovation of the building and addition. The site in which the 1888 building sits on is being repurposed for the Town’s new Town Hall building, currently in design. Although a firm timeline has not been confirmed, construction is not expected to start prior to second quarter 2025.
