The purpose of this Request for Proposal (RFP) is to solicit proposals from qualified firms to provide the School District of Jefferson County Public Schools (referenced in this document as JCPS or the "District") withwalk-in cooler/walk-in freezer units and installation. The District expects the contractor to provide a turnkey solution for this project and shall include all installation, materials, labor, supplies, equipment, necessary storage, travel, and communication required to provide the units to the District. The turnkey solution for this project shall also include, startup per JCPS requirement, testing, training for school based staff and JCPS refrigeration technicians (see specifications for details), support, and all other services related to ensuring the successful operation of the systems, for the duration of time indicated by the contract and warranty period. The offerors will work in conjunction with JCPS Engineers and General Contractor assigned to school projects in the District. Site work for replacement units may begin after the last day of school, May 22, 2025 (subject to change). Questions shall be submitted in writing or via email to Wyatte Wynn, Director of Purchasing/Bids (purchasingbids@jefferson.kyschools.us) no later than 3:00 p.m., Monday, December 9, 2024. All questions will be addressed and read aloud at the pre-bid conference. Additional questions will be accepted at the conference and none thereafter. All questions and responses will also be posted on the website where this proposal is displayed by 4:00 p.m., Thursday, December 19, 2024. Units must be installed, started up, and fully functional by July 25, 2025. Detail work such as trim, paint, thresholds, bumper pads, etc. is to be completed by August 7, 2025. Upon acceptance of a proposal by the School Board, the provider shall agree that service shall not be canceled without a 90-day written notification submitted to the Director of Purchasing prior to the cancellation. JCPS reserves the right to reject all proposals. Bid date description: All proposals will be opened in the Purchasing/Bid Department Conference Room of the C. B. Young, Jr., Service Center, 3001 Crittenden Drive, Louisville, Kentucky 40209.
