Bids must remain valid and shall not be subject to withdrawal for sixty (60) calendar days after the bid opening date. SCOPE OF WORK. The Project includes furnishing all necessary labor, materials, equipment and other incidental and appurtenant work necessary to satisfactorily construct asphalt cold milling, asphalt-rubber hot mix overlay (with ARAMI), Slurry Seal, AC pavement repair, tree root repairs, utility cover adjustments, ADA ramps, pavement delineation, and related items of work, as more specifically described in the Contract Documents. The work shall be performed in strict conformance with the Contract Documents, permits from regulatory agencies with jurisdiction, and applicable regulations. The quantity of work to be performed and materials to be furnished are approximations only, being given as a basis for the comparison of bids. Actual quantities of work to be performed may vary at the discretion of the City Engineer. BONDS. Each bid must be accompanied by bidder s bond issued by a surety insurer, which must be made payable to the City and in an amount not less than 10% of the total bid submitted. Upon contract award, the Contractor shall provide a performance bond and a payment bond, each in a sum equal to the contract price. Failure to enter into a valid contract, including the submission of all required bonds and insurance coverages, with the City within 15 days after the date of delivery of the Contract Documents to the Contractor, shall subject the bid security to forfeiture to the extent permitted by law.
