St. Charles Community College (SCC) invites sealed bids for Project No. F25-09, Synthetic Turfing for the SCC Softball Field. Statement of Work - PROJECT F25-09: SCC SOFTBALL FIELD SYNTHETIC HIP RENOVATION o Excavate approximately 5,200 sqft at a depth of 3-4 inches from the hip areas of the infield. o All spoils are to be stored on site at an approved school location. o Laser grade base area to ensure even distribution of base rock. o Set all tack and nail boards for per hip area layout. o Install 4" perforated drainage line with sock and pop-up emitter. o Install heavy duty 4oz grid fabric. o Install first course of 3/4" clean gravel base. o Install second course of 3/8" clean gravel for finish grade. o Roll area to compact with 36" double drum roller or equivalent method. o Install new synthetic turf in accordance with approved hip area design and colors. o For bid purposes please use Extreme Turf DXF 50 (or Equivalent) o For installation method: quote sewn o 2" (50 mm) tall pile fiber height o Polyethylene with exclusive 300/360-micron monofilament + 110 micron slit film o 1/2" tufting gauge o 8 oz/sy primary back (13+) o 20 oz/sy polyurethane secondary backing o 46 oz/sy face weight (grass yarn) o Install 50% ambient SBR crumb rubber and 50% silica sand infill mixture, by weight o Finish grade all synthetic to natural transition(s) o All work to be done per the design drawings and specification as well as any changes made during the walk-through and in compliance of St. Charles Community College and local requirements and regulations o Design and build per B/P and any additional guidance will be given from St Charles Community College o During construction all work areas must be maintained for cleanliness and safety! School will be in session o Completion of site work (all material created during construction must be removed from property) o Check & verify complete working condition and requirements per the full bid package o Ensure all construction areas' conditions are as clean or better from before construction began o This project is TAX EXEMPT. o See bid package for drawings of SCC Softball turfing area o Awarded contractor for projects over $75,000 must adhere to the state requirements for Prevailing Wages per RSMO Section 290. ** NOTE** - St. Charles Community College is a Smoke and Tobacco/Marijuana free campus -- END OF GENERAL CONTRACTOR SCOPE OF WORK The Contractor must be prequalified. Prequalification forms will be in the project manual. SCC is looking for a Contractor to Install Synthetic Turf in the hip area of the SCC Softball Field on the main campus in Cottleville. Prevailing wages will be paid for all work as required by RSMO Section 290. Every request for interpretation must be in writing. Each bidder shall examine the bidding documents carefully and not later than five (3) working days prior to the date for receipt of bids shall make written request to the Construction Coordinator for interpretation or correction of any ambiguity, inconsistency, error, or code violation therein which he may discover. Any and all such interpretations and any supplemental instructions will be in the form of a written addendum to the specifications. Only a written interpretation or correction by addendum shall be binding. No bidder shall rely upon any interpretation or correction given by any other method. Failure of any bidder to receive such interpretation shall not relieve such bidder from any obligation under this bid as submitted. All addenda so issued shall become part of the contract documents.
