The purpose of this Request for Proposal (RFP) is to solicit unsealed proposals from qualified firms to develop an adaptive Community Forest Management Plan ("CFMP") for Commonwealth of Virginia ("the State") on behalf of the Town of Marion that will foster a sustainable community forest that can tolerate increased pressures from pests, disease, invasive plants, climate change and development. The community forest in these communities are recognized as an asset for the community. However, with the emerald ash borer infestation many tree-related activities are reactive in nature and lack comprehensive information on the community forest resource and management tools needed to operate an efficient and small community-focused forestry program. The State seeks professional services in the areas of arboriculture, community forestry, geographic information systems (GIS), natural resource management, and community outreach, as well as in other areas of expertise outlined in this RFP. Period of Contract: March 3, 2025 - May 15, 2026 A preproposal conference has been deemed unnecessary for this solicitation. Questions may be directed to thomas.baumann@dof.virginia.gov in writing and will be answered in writing or via addendum. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
