The purpose of this Request for Proposal (RFP) is to solicit unsealed proposals from qualified firms to develop an adaptive Storm Recovery Plan (SRP) for Commonwealth of Virginia (the State) on behalf of the Town of Damascus that will foster a sustainable and more resilient community forest after the devastation inflected by Hurricane Helene to the Town. The community forest is recognized as an asset for the community. However, with the emerald ash borer infestation and hurricane damage many tree-related activities have been reactive in nature. During recovery, the town needs support from a professional to provide support, planning and management tools needed to operate an efficient and small community-focused forestry program. The State seeks professional services in the areas of arboriculture, community forestry, geographic information systems (GIS), natural resource management, and community outreach, as well as in other areas of expertise outlined in this RFP.
