The City of Modesto, Public Works Department, Facilities Division, requires a qualified contractor to provide On-Call General Electrical Services. The City has developed a sample Scope of Work (SOW) electrical job for on-call general electrical work. The bidder that provides the lowest total price for the sample job shall be deemed the overall lowest bidder in determining award. Bid may be awarded one or more Bidder in order to provide adequate coverage to meet the City's needs. The work covered by these specifications consist of furnishing all labor, materials, tools, equipment, vehicles, fuel, and insurance necessary to perform as needed electrical services throughout the year. 1.1 TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS: A. Complete service distribution system, including: 1. Secondary service cables 2. Conduits, wires, and cables 3. Feeders and branch circuits 4. Motor starters 5. Switches, boxes, and motor 6. Power and control wiring 7. Wiring devices 8. Emergency Electrical Troubleshooting 9. PLC Programming and Troubleshooting 10. VFD Repair, Replace Program 11. Provide Staff Training on site. B. Lighting fixtures C. Emergency lighting system & radio intercom systems D. Coordination with and installation of equipment and systems provided by the City and others E. Disconnect controls and starters F. Hangers and supports G. System identification H. Install conduit, conductors, transformers, pull boxes, and switches I. Service and repair pumps and motors, including industrial motor controls and control circuits, and various other types of electrical equipment and apparatus J. Repair and replace broken or defective parts in motors, switches, and fixtures. K. Test, locate, and repair trouble in electrical circuits and equipment. L. Inspect, repair, and install lighting systems. M. Read engineering drawings, plans, and details to compile materials list. N. Knowledge of the theory of electricity, electrical practices, tools, equipment, and materials used in the electrical trade for the installation, operation, and maintenance of electrical equipment, apparatus, and instruments. O. Knowledge an application of all the laws, rules and standards pertaining to electrical construction and maintenance, and of the hazards involved in working around energized lines and equipment; standard safety practices as prescribed by the California Occupational Safety and Health Act, the California Division of Industrial Safety Title 8, and NFPA 70E.
