Site work for a water / sewer project in Delaware, Ohio. Conceptual plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
Because the Northern areas of the Citys utility service boundary have continued to develop, additional wastewater main capacity will soon be required. This large sized main will both allow for new capacity as well as intercept the Northern flows going into the existing Olentangy sewer main, creating a higher level of service to the existing downtown and ward 1 residents. This would be a large-scale project most likely requiring state loan funding sources, and possibly creating an additional capacity surcharge for new users reflective of the current Southeast Highland Sewer surcharge As of October 9, 2025, this project is in the conceptual phase. An engineer has not been selected. This project is included in the City of Delaware's FY 2025-2029 Capital Improvement Program (CIP) and funding for allocated for construction in 2027. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
