Site work, new construction and addition to a water / sewer project in Brighton, Michigan. Conceptual plans call for the addition of a water / sewer project; for site work for a water / sewer project; and for the construction of a water / sewer project.
With increased staff, vehicles, equipment, and testing and reporting regulations, an expansion of the Challis Road Water Plant is necessary. The main building expansion would include the addition of a laboratory, ofce, locker room, laundry room, and additional restroom facilities for different genders and to meet ADA requirements. Currently, six full-time employees and additional part-time employees utilize a single bathroom with one toilet and no changing areas. There is not a dedicated laboratory for testing. Additional ofce space is needed for water operators. The garage would be expanded to allow for the storage of vehicles, equipment, and water system inventory supplies. Currently, many are stored outside and exposed to inclement weather As of October 16, 2025 This project is included in the City's 2024-2030 Capital Improvement Program (CIP) *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly.
