The work on this project generally consists of the replacement of two (2) existing steam boilers, boiler feed unit, vacuum condensate pump, breeching, piping, controls, and all required accessories. B. The scope of work shall consist of the following: 1. Demolition of the following existing equipment: a. Two (2) steam boilers and associated concrete pads b. Boiler breeching c. Steam/condensate piping, steam traps, & accessories d. Fuel oil piping and accessories e. Boiler Feed Unit f. Condensate Vaccuum Pump g. Combustion air fans h. Supporting Electrical circuiting & infrastructure i. Inspection of existing chimney j. The removal of asbestos material as required to support the installation of the new equipment. k. All associated supports, wiring, controls, accessories, and other work related to the demolition of the existing steam boiler plant as required for the proposed work and as described on the plans and in these specifications. 2. Provision of the following new equipment/work: a. Two (2) new cast iron section steam boilers with concrete pads and natural gas burners. b. New Boiler breeching. Provide new chimney liner based on results of chimney inspection. c. New steam/condensate piping, steam traps, and supporting infrastructure. d. New fuel gas piping, regulators and equipment. Contractor shall coordinate with the local gas utility company for the provision of a new gas service to the facility for the proposed steam boilers. e. Boiler feed unit and controller. f. Vacuum condensate pump and associated controls. g. Two (2) combustion air fans and associated controls and accessories. h. New electrical panel and electrical circuiting/infrastructure to support all new equipment and controls. i. Provision of new Master Boiler Control Panel and associated control wiring and devices to control the steam heating and condensate return systems j. All other associated supports, wiring, controls, piping, and other work required to support the proposed boiler plant replacement as described on the drawings and listed in these specifications. Regardless of the method of submission, bid bond must be received by Purchasing prior to the bid opening.
