Site work for a swimming pool in Greenwich, Connecticut. Conceptual plans call for site work for a 3,200-square-foot swimming pool.
The Town of Greenwich, Connecticut selected Weston & Sampson to design and engineer a new park and public outdoor pool facility and provide the full range of design, permitting, and architectural services required for such a facility. Because of our broad range of in-house architectural, engineering, permitting, MEP, and other capabilities, Weston & Sampson provided civil, survey, aquatics design, landscape architecture, structural, mechanical (HVAC)/electrical/plumbing, and architectural services. We designed a 3,200-square-foot restroom/concessions building, a 700-square-foot pool filter building, an entry building, and a large zero-entry pool with lap lanes, a splash pad, and a kiddie pool to replace an outdated facility on the site with a multi-generational, accessible, full service aquatic destination. We performed site layout of the proposed recreation and building elements and parking lot expansion to comply with local zoning and ADA standards. Our forward-looking stormwater management design met the town's low impact development (LID) and stormwater quality standards that also reduced peak runoff flow. We provided structural design services for retaining walls and an exposed aggregate pool deck. Our low-pressure sanitary sewer design consolidates existing low-pressure systems while accepting new flows from the proposed development. Our design of the landscape around the pool enhanced the project and complemented the surrounding coastal environment, while our design of the primary facilities and pool area complied with new costal resiliency regulations and FEMA elevation restrictions. Finally, we designed several retaining walls and a beachfront park area to withstand wave velocities, and our environmental permitting services ensured that the facility complied with local wetlands and coastal regulations. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
