Site work for a water / sewer project in Mary Esther, Florida. Conceptual plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The project will regrade the ditch from Hollywood Boulevard west along the north side of the Scottsdale and Springdale neighborhoods. This will convey all stormwater west through an existing ditch on Hurlburt Field to Kohler Bayou. The design is nearly complete. Unfortunately, surveyors determined that part of the project is located on Hurlburt Field property. Staff has submitted an easement request to Hurlburt, however, this process can take up to two (2) years to complete. As of April 3, 2025, this project is in the conceptual phase. An engineer has not been selected. It is anticipate the owner will receive the go ahead in next few months to proceed to design and easements, then permitting. Construction is likely to start 12-18 months from now. This project is included in the city's 2025-2029 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change. The content management team will continue to pursue additional details as they become available.
