Project Scope of Work - Contractor shall make all efforts to maintain integrity of all exit doorways and other school property during demo. Contractor will be responsible for damages. - Scott County Schools Maintenance will remove all electrical controls and disconnect all electrical connections from coal fired boiler and associated equipment to allow completion of the project. - Scott County Schools will have all water connections removed and/or valved off to allow for all boiler and piping removal from the space by the contractor. - Contractor shall remove two coal fired boilers, coal hoppers, augers, coal storage bin, any remaining unused coal, any and all insulation with the boiler and piping system, water piping and valves, steam piping, condensate return system, two water storage tanks and support structure, flue piping to within 6-12" of the chimney wall, metal and all other associated parts from the boiler room and hauled offsite for proper disposal. - The exterior chimney and any lining material shall be removed to approximately 4' above the roof line. A temporary cover shall be installed on the chimney to keep out water, debris, or small rodents/animals. The mechanical contractor will provide a permanent cover upon completion of the new boiler flue pipe installation. During the chimney removal, 60mil rubber shall be placed on the roof up to 24' away from all four sides of the chimney with 3/4" plywood or other similar material of same structural quality, covering on top of the rubber up to 12' away from the chimney's outside edge on all four sides for protection of the new roof installed in 2019. The demolition contractor will be responsible for any damage to the roofing membrane. - Any water lines or steam lines remaining in the walls of the coal storage room, boiler room, or electrical room shall have a rubber end cap with hose clamp or other suitable pipe end cap installed to seal off the opening of the pipe. - Some water could be in the piping and boiler, contractor and employees shall use precaution as needed to drain the water for safe demolition of equipment - Contractor is responsible for all tools and equipment including all rigging required to complete the demolition work. - Contractor is responsible for removing all material that is a part of the boiler demolition from the space and school property.
