The City of Eustis (City) is exploring alternatives to the existing Sci-Text(TM) control network that's easily maintained by multiple providers/integrators if the level of service declines or is no longer provided. The City wastewater lift stations (LSs), Wastewater Treatment Facilities (WWTFs), and Water Treatment Plants (WTPs) are equipped with a Sci-Text(TM) remote monitoring and control system that acts as a two-way alarm/monitoring system with text messaging communication. The remote sites are polled via master modems located in the Main Control Room of the Bates Avenue WWTF. The Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system and graphical Human-Machine Interface (HMI) used by the City to display remote information is VTScada, developed by Trihedral. The SCADA servers read/write to the controller via MODBUS protocol. Users can request real-time data, acknowledge alarms, and control outputs from a cellular phone.
