The City of Saint Charles has purchased a building at 655 North Main Street in Saint Charles, MO with the intention to demolish the building to prepare for construction of a new parking garage and new City Hall. Prior to building demolition all hazardous materials and universal waste must be safely removed. Bids shall be accompanied by a Bid Deposit (Guaranty) in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total amount of the bid and payable to the City of Saint Charles, Missouri. The Bid Deposit shall be enclosed in the envelope containing the bid. the successful bidder shall furnish a Performance and Payment bond for one hundred (100%) percent of the contract amount. The anticipated hazardous materials abatement start date is February 3, 2025. All permits should be obtained prior to this date upon Notice to Proceed. All work awarded (including final air clearances) shall be completed prior to March 14, 2025. Work shall not commence without issuance of a Contract and a Notice to Proceed. The Contractor shall pay the City as liquidated damages and not as a penalty, the sum of $1,000.00 for each calendar day the Contractor fails to comply with the Construction Schedule. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids, or to advertise for new bids if deemed necessary.
