Bid Intent Optional Bid Intent Deadline 01/21/2025 08:30 AM EST DESCRIPTION: Shoulder Cl IV, Modified shall consist of all work required to prepare the earth grade in accordance with Section 307.03A of the Standard Specifications and in conformity with the lines, grades, and typical cross-sections shown on the plans or as established by the Engineer. It shall also consist of but not be limited to the following items: Bring up windrowed materials along the edge of the roadway to back up new HMA and establish a gravel shoulder to the width established by the Engineer. Care should be taken so as not to leave any windrowed materials in the ditches after the gravel is brought up to grade. Removal of such wasted materials in the ditch will be removed at the contactors expense. MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT: The complete work for Shoulder Cl IV, Modified will be a linear measurement by the station. The measurement will be made along the length of the area where this item is used. Payment will be at the contract unit price for the following contract pay item and includes all material, equipment and labor needed to complete this item. PAY ITEM PAY UNIT Shoulder Cl IV, Modified Station This work shall conform to the requirements of Section 305 of the Standard Specifications for Construction of the Michigan Department of Transportation with the following modification: The pulverizer must be able to inject brine into drum at a precisely controlled rate of 3/4 gallon per square yard and be able to connect physically to the tanker used to deliver the brine to the site. Also the pulverizer must have remix bars such that 95 percent of the crushed material must have a maximum particle size of 1 1/2 inch, with no particle size exceeding 4 inches.
