Reference Number 0000371599 Bid Intent Not Available Job Location: 1362 Chopmist Hill Road, N Scituate, Rhode Island The Town of Scituate, located in the county of Providence, State of Rhode Island is seeking proposals from qualified and certified vendors to replace the current fire alarm system at the Chopmist Hill Fire Department, 1362 Chopmist Hill Road, North Scituate, Rhode Island. Question Deadline 01/09/2025 at 2:00 PM ET Questions are submitted online Yes 1. The Town of Scituate, herein after referred to as "The Town", located in the county of Providence, State of Rhode Island is seeking proposals from qualified and certified vendors to replace the current fire alarm system at the Chopmist Hill Fire Department, 1362 Chopmist Hill Road, North Scituate, Rhode Island. 2. The acceptable manufacturer's system shall be designed and installed in working order by the authorized local factory dealer/representative for that product and include all labor, tools, materials and equipment required for the work described in these specifications. 3. The installer/contractor will obtain all necessary permits for the installation of the fire alarm system. 4. The design plan shall be submitted to the local Fire Marshal for approval. No installation may occur without approval from the local Fire Marshal. 5. The acceptable fire alarm system shall be warrantied for a minimum of one year for all parts and labor. 6. The factory dealer representative shall submit a certification stating that he/she is an authorized representative for the manufacturer of the equipment that he/she is submitting for approval and maintains a fully equipped and stocked service shop. 7. The factory dealer representative shall hold a current contractor's license for any and all licenses/certifications required by the State of Rhode Island to perform the scope of work outlined in this RFP. 8. The contractor, factory/service representative for the system components shall provide all materials required for a total replacement of the fire alarm system, including but not limited to the following components: Fire Alarm Control Panel with Digital Address Trouble Lights Silencing Switch Reset Switch Manual Stations Remote Annunciator Signal Device Pull Stations Smoke Detectors Carbon Monoxide Detectors Duct Mounted Smoke Detectors Heat Detectors Relays Horn Strobes Modules (Isolation and Attic) 9. All devices, equipment, and combination thereof shall be of the manufacturer's current production. 10. All component parts of the system and the control unit shall be approved for the purpose intended. The stamp, label, seal or certificate of the Underwriter's Laboratories or the Factory Mutual Laboratories shall be considered as acceptable evidence of such approval. 11. A Rhode Island licensed, fire alarm technician shall install, adjust, and test the equipment. The local Fire Marshal must be present during testing and provide final approval of the fire alarm system. The technician shall be qualified by training and experience in the installation, wiring, and operation of the fire alarm system specified. The technician shall instruct operating personnel in the operation, adjustment, and maintenance of the system. A statement signed by the person or persons instruction shall be supplied prior to final operation. 12. A Rhode Island licensed, fire alarm technician shall provide a written certification that the system is in complete and proper working order and in compliance with all codes including but not limited to Rhode Island Life Safety Code-section 9.6, NFPA 72, and National Electrical Code. 13. Complete instructions for the operation, inspection, testing, and maintenance of the system, including wiring diagrams and replacement parts list shall be furnished upon final acceptance of the system. Also provide all special tools that are necessary for the maintenance of the equipment and include one set of fuses for each type and size. 14. The fire alarm system being replaced (current system), must be fully removed by the contractor/installer. 15. The contractor/installer will furnish and lay suitable drop cloths where work is being done to protect surfaces. All work areas are to be cleaned, swept, and all debris and tools removed from the site daily Buyer Preferences, Guidelines & Requirements General Requirements - Certified Payroll - Installation Required - Insurance Required - Prevailing Wage Required Bonding Requirements - Performance Bond 100 % - Surety Bond 5 % The town of scituate reserves the right to reject any and all bids or anyparts thereof; to waive informalities and technicalities; and, to acceptthat bid which the town and dpw director deem to be in the best interest ofthe town, whether or not it is the lowest dollar bid.
