Sealed bids will be accepted from qualified contractors by Rockford Public Schools for the Rockford Freshman Center Asbestos Abatement project. The scope of work includes removal of asbestos containing floor tile & mastic, asbestos containing doors, clock assemblies, flooring, visual display boards, vibration dampener, boiler, tank insulation, windows, and demolition of the wooden stage A bid security in the amount of five percent (5%) of the base bid amount is required and shall accompany the bid. Bid security may be in the form of a bid bond issued by a qualified surety authorized to do business in the State of Michigan, a cashier's check, or money order payable to Rockford Public Schools. Bids may not be withdrawn for a period of 60 days after the bid date. Rockford Public Schools reserves the right to reject any or all bids per MCL 380.1267. All bids shall be accompanied by a sworn and notarized statement disclosing any familial relationship that exists between the Owner(s) or any employee of the bidder and any member of the board, intermediate school board, or board of directors or the superintendent of the school district, or chief executive officer or the public school academy. The District shall not accept a bid that does not include this sworn and notarized disclosure statement.
