Saving Project...

Site work for a water / sewer project in Kamloops, British Columbia. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

Ducks Unlimited Canada is partnering with BC Parks to redesign an existing wetland impoundment and dike system known as Moberly Marsh into a natural self-sustaining floodplain and wetland complex (the Project). The Project lies on the traditional territory of the Ktunaxa and Secwépemc peoples and is located on a 300-hectare floodplain along the Columbia River 14 km north of Golden (Figure 1). DUC and BC Parks plan to decommission and remove the water control structures, block ditches and other drainage features, remove or lower internal dikes, and create inlets and outlets in the perimeter dikes to reconnect floodplain processes and habitat. The Project will remove existing infrastructure and create conditions for natural and self-sustaining flooding. DUC intends to enter into a Contract with the Successful Bidder for the purpose of designing and delivering phase 1 Services for the Project outlined in this Request for Proposals. DUC is accepting Proposals from Bidders qualified to perform the following Services including, but not limited to: Prepare and deliver the following reports in a timely manner: o An Updated Environment Management Plan for the proposed works, o A detailed restoration design plan to 1) restore internal works at Braul Marsh (northmost impoundment in Moberly Marsh) and 2) to design inlet/outlets at Braul Marsh. Anticipated works include strategically removing water control structures, removing, lowering or breaching dikes, filling borrow pits, disabling ditches, converting nest islands to wetlands, and excavating wetland basins, all within confines of the budget. The plan will include the following: o A Construction Plan, including equipment, materials, and schedule, and o An Emergency Safety Plan. Serve as the Prime Contractor for this phase of the Project, fulfilling all requirements under the BC Workers Compensation Act, including meeting Occupational Health & Safety Plan requirements and the Emergency Safety Plan. Supervise construction during the fall of 2025, anticipated between mid-August and late-October. Provide on-the-job training to DUC and BC parks related to wetland restoration design, construction supervision and wetland restoration techniques, in order to transfer knowledge and experience to local staff and partners and help increase capacity in the growing sector of wetland and floodplain restoration. Complete field elevation survey and conceptual design plan for the next phase of the Project, including Sime Compartment and Spike Elk Farm at Moberly Marsh. A Contract must be entered into prior to the end of day (4:30 PM PST) on March 7, 2025. DUC, in its sole discretion, will confirm actual start and end dates for the Services upon complete execution of the Contract. Documents are available at https://bids.bidsandtenders.ca/
