Renovation of a mixed-use development in Salem, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility; and laboratory facility.

Salem State University - SSU BOLD - Modernization of Science Labs and Health Sciences, Salem, Massachusetts - SSA2202 The Salem State Modernization of Science Labs and Health Sciences Project is comprised of a new wing addition to the Meier Hall Science Center and the complete renovation of the Horace Mann building. The Meier Hall Addition contains 7 new teaching labs for Biology, Chemistry and Geoscience. These include a General Chemistry Teaching Lab, Organic Chemistry Teaching Lab, Advanced Chemistry/Geological Sciences (GLS) Teaching Lab, Instrumentation Lab (Chemistry/GLS flex), Intro Biology Lab, Environmental Teaching lab, and Advanced Biology Teaching Lab and related prep spaces. The addition provides an accessible entry from Lafayette Street; it connects to the third and fourth floors of the existing Meier Hall through a bridge/corridor that is lined with student social space. The Horace Mann Building is a comprehensive renovation that creates a new home for the majority of the Maguire Meservey College of Health and Human Services for Criminal Justice, Healthcare Studies, Nursing, and Occupational Therapy (OT), including Flexible Classrooms, Computer Classrooms, ATI computer-based Testing Room, Simulation Labs and In-patient Simulation Suite, Bed Skills labs, Outpatient Rooms, Home Health Simulation Suite, OT Teaching Lab and program specific storage rooms. The four-story building will also house five office suites, and distributed Informal Student Spaces. PAYETTE is currently completing the Design Development phase of the project. DCAMM is anticipating the final Construction Documents will be issued by the summer of 2025. Early packages will be utilized to initiate enabling scope of work that can advance the construction schedule and procure long lead items that can assure on time equipment arrivals. The Construction Manager is working with the project team to identify those long lead equipment items and enabling packages that can assist the advancement of the project while the documents are being completed. Primary construction start is schedule for Summer 2025. Construction is expected to be completed within 24 months. It is intended that the construction be completed and that the building will be fully functional and occupied by early 2027. Estimated Total Overall Project Construction Cost (does not include CM Fee/General Conditions):$78,500,260 The separate Minority Business Enterprise and Women Business Enterprise (MBE & WBE) participation goals for this project are: 5.0 % MBE and 7.8 % WBE of the GMP. Please note that only firms certified by the Supplier Diversity Office (SDO) as MBE or WBE can be credited toward meeting the project MBE and WBE goals. Workforce utilization goals will apply to the project. The Commonwealth promotes and monitors the participation of Service-Disabled VeteranOwned Business Enterprises and Veteran Business Enterprises (collectively "VBE") on its construction projects. The VBE goal for this Project is 3%.
