The County of Chester solicits bids for Chester Valley Trail, Phase IVa Construction. Bidders are required to submit with their bid, a bid guaranty of not less than ten percent (10%) of the total bid amount, in the form of cash, certified or bank cashier's check made payable to the Treasurer of Chester County, or a bid bond with approved surety. The successful bidder will be required to submit a one hundred percent (100%) Performance Bond and a one hundred percent (100%) Labor and Materials Bond with a one (1) year warranty. Additional requirement: The successful bidder will be required to submit a Maintenance Bond of not less than ten percent (10%) of the contract price covering a period of one year following completion of the project. (DCNR funding requirement) This project is subject to PA Prevailing Wage Rates. SCOPE OF WORK 25 n tl BACKGROUND The Chester County Department of Facilities desires to perform construction of an extension of the County's Chester Valley Trail. The work includes, but is not limited to furnishing all necessary labor, equipment and materials for layout and construction of the trail from the existing terminus along Commerce Drive to the Oaklands Corporate Center in Exton, West Whiteland Township, and improvements at the intersections of Commerce Drive and Main Street, and Commerce Drive and Indian Run Street. 2.0 Contract Coordination: All actions such as requests for payment, communications, and the work must be coordinated with and approved by the County's Representative: 1.0 Location: Project work area is at the Chester Valley Trail along Commerce Drive and within the Oaklands Corporate Center in Exton, PA. Reference Index Map (DWG. No. IM147525) on Sheet 2 of 15 of the Construction Drawings set. 3.2 Submit revised progress schedules weekly as construction progresses. 3.3 Construction Progress Schedule: 3.3.1 Show complete sequence of construction by activity. 3.3.2 Show dates for beginning, and completion of, each major element of construction. 3.3.3 Include final close-out activities, such as instruction, inspections, and record documents of project. 3.3.4 All construction by all Contracts shall be included on one master schedule. 3.3.5 Distribute additional copies of the reviewed schedules to all subcontractors, Park Superintendent, and the County Representative. 3.4 Submit initial schedules within 7 days of effective date of Agreement. 3.4.1 County will review schedules and return review copy within 10 days after receipt. The Contractor shall coordinate the work with the County's Representative. The County's Representative shall have final approval. Should the weather become inclement and not permit work continuation, a new project work schedule will be required and mutually agreed to between the Owner and the Contractor
