MFR's existing airport terminal building is approximately 80,000 square feet and consists of 2 levels (First and Second Floors), along with approximately 19,000 square feet of existing support canopy space. The project is anticipated to include the addition of approximately 97,000 square feet and a renovation and reconfiguration of approximately 50,500 square feet to the existing building, increasing the total terminal building and support operation areas to approximately 188,000 square feet. The project scope includes a new concourse and holdrooms, passenger boarding bridges, concessions space, new restrooms and support spaces, baggage claim addition, and landside and airside civil/airfield improvements. The scope will also include new mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and IT/security systems supporting the building expansion, as well as upgrades to the existing systems such as HVAC modernization for existing areas. The Airport Terminal Expansion design was approved in Board Order #181-25, authorizing RS&H to provide architectural and engineering services related to the design, permitting, and construction administration of the Terminal Expansion Project.
