Reference Number 0000284503 Pricing Lump sum Question Deadline 01/17/2025 at 1:00 PM CT The City of Thompson is inviting proposals from qualified Consulting firms to provide consulting services for a review and update of asbestos inventory, cost estimation for removal, and provision of training for employees. i) The COT is issuing this Request for Proposals for asbestos containing material in all of the city owned buildings identified in Appendix A. ii) The services will consist of: a) Updating Asbestos Inventory. Previous Inventory conducted by consultant in 2019. Services for this will include: Inspect and perform all necessary tests on all components of building and structure, to identify asbestos containing materials, including asbestos type, percentage and condition. Provide recommendation on abatement option for Asbestos containing material. Submit a draft report to the City staff for comments. Provide a final report and asbestos containing material inventory. Report shall be in PDF and excel format. Provide the Asbestos Containing Material (ACM) inventory in accordance with section 37.2 of Manitoba regulation 217/2006 workplace safety & health regulation. b) Calculating a Class D estimate for removal of asbestos identified in "a" above. Under MB reporting requirements, municipalities are required to report Asset Retirement Obligations for hazardous substances This estimate will be used to meet these reporting requirements. Labour and equipment rates used for calculations must be local to Thompson. c) Training: In order to conduct Annual Inventory updates required under section 37.2 of Manitoba regulation 217/2006 workplace safety & health regulation, the City is asking for training courses be provided to a select number of employees (>5). The training shall include information on Asbestos awareness, how to conduct asbestos inventories, O&M procedures, and introduction to removal/abatement Types. These individuals involved in this training will not be conducting abatement work but may be supervising/overseeing contractors. d) OH Survey Conduct an Occupational Hygiene survey for the Chlorine room within our WTP. The CoT operates the municipal WTP, and uses liquid chlorine for water treatment. This survey will review the controls in place within the building and provide information on improvement or additional needs. Commercial general liability insurance covering claims for personal and bodily injury, death, or damage to property arising out of the Contractor or Sub-contractors providing the Services under the Agreement, in the amount of not less than Two Million ($2,000,000.) Canadian dollars per occurrence; and; and all deductibles will be less than $2,500 and to be paid by the Contractor.
