Renovation of a fitness / recreation center in Newport, Oregon. Completed plans call for the renovation of a fitness / recreation center.

The City of Newport Recreation Center was constructed in 1999 and is currently using the original HVAC control system. Due to the systems age, and, in an effort to increase energy efficiency the City is requesting proposals from qualified HVAC contractors and building automation system providers. Question Deadline 01/07/2025 The City of Newport Recreation Center was constructed in 1999 and is currently using the original HVAC control system. Due to the systems age, and, in an effort to increase energy efficiency, the city is commissioning an upgrade to the Center's HVAC building automation system and controls. To move forward with this upgrade, the City of Newport is requesting proposals from qualified HVAC contractors and building automation system providers. The goal is to select a partner who can provide a comprehensive solution that meets the city's energy efficiency goals, is scalable for future upgrades, and is backed by strong customer support. Scope of Work The City is seeking the following products and services under this Request for Proposals: 1. Furnish and install a new HVAC building automation system which should include, but not limited to: a. Control system software (compatible with City system) b. Control system hardware c. All system instrumentations, control devices, actuators, transmitters, and sensors d. All programming required for successful operation of the new system e. All controls information paperwork and as-builts 2. The new control system should provide improved control and/or monitoring of the following equipment: a. Air Handler Units (6) b. VAV Terminal Units (6) c. System exhaust fans (8) d. Electric Unit Heaters (1) e. Hot Water Pumps (2) f. Fresh Air Louvers (16) 3. Provide City staff onsite training and overview on the new system and other tools to assist in system operation. 4. Warranty services including, but not limited to, parts, labor, and/or technical support (define maximum number of years available). Proposers are required to provide an itemized quote plus an hourly rate in case unforeseen problems arise that are beyond the scope of the proposal. If there are unforeseen problems requiring additional cost, the City of Newport is to be notified in writing and the contractor must receive written approval before proceeding.
