This project consists of the construction of a new Pre-K through 5 elementary school facility of approximately 122,680 gross square feet area. Site development includes mass grading of approximately 17 acres with associated storm sewer, an injection well, asphalt paving, curbs, fencing, private utilities and stabilization. Public water will be relocated as well as a public gas main extended to serve the site. A new, public, sanitary sewer lift station will be installed in place of the existing station with a new forcemain. Wallace Boulevard will be widened and striped to provide two lanes of traffic in each direction as well as construction of a roundabout at the Wallace Boulevard terminus to the site. The exterior wall structure consists of ICF insulated concrete bearing walls with a combination of mason veneer and E.I.F.S. on the exterior. Interior walls are a combination of load-bearing and non-load bearing CMU along with non-load bearing metal studs. The roof includes standing seam metal panels on rigid insulation on metal deck and steel bar joists or light gage steel trusses, while some roof areas will be low sloped single ply membrane on tapered rigid insulation on metal deck and steel bar joists along with hollowcore precast panels. The floor structure is concrete slab on grade. The project also includes four mechanical mezzanines supported by CMU walls and hollow core precast panels. Freedom Elementary School.
