Renovation of a water / sewer project in Princeton, New Jersey. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.
**As of February 19, 2025 the project has not been awarded yet. The timeline for award is expected after February 25, 2025.** The work includes replacement of two (2) live bottom screw feeders, including troughs and associated appurtenances, in the Sludge Cake Storage Hopper; converting the live bottom screw feeders DC electric drive system to an AC drive system on the Sludge Cake Storage Hopper and two (2) Receiving Bins; providing two (2) interlocks on the knife gate valves of the Sludge Cake Storage Hopper; replacement of two (2) ultrasonic level transmitters with two (2) radar level transmitters on the Sludge Cake Storage Hopper; providing airblast radar lens cleaning system; providing maintenance platforms for the screw feeders; providing two (2) temporary sludge bypass pipe runs to the Receiving Bins; replacing of five (5) motor operated sludge cake piping ball valves, and appurtenant work associated with these replacements; and repainting of the Sludge Storage Cake Storage Hopper. The work is located at the Stony Brook Regional Sewerage Authority River Road Wastewater Treatment Plant located at 290 River Road, Princeton, New Jersey 08540. Certified, Treasurer's or Cashier's Check or bid bond in the sum of 10 percent of the bid, but in no case in excess of $20,000, Agreement of Surety, List of Subcontractors, Ownership Disclosure, Bidder's Affidavit, Non-Collusion Affidavit, References, Acknowledgement of Receipt of Notices, Revisions or addenda to Bid Documents Form, Investment Activities in Iran Disclosure, Bidder's Checklist, and Questionnaire are required with each Bid. Successful bidder must furnish 100 percent Performance and Payment Bond in the form required Question Deadline 01/31/2025- All questions that Bidders may have regarding the Bid Documents shall be submitted in writing and directed to the Engineer, Taya Kotlyar, P.E., GHD, Project Manager, by email Taya.Kotlyar@ghd.com at least ten (10) days before the established date for receipt of Bids (Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays excepted). The Owner reserves the right to reject all Bids pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-13.2. The Maintenance Bond shall be in a sum equal to 2% of the Contract Price. Replacement of two (2) dual live bottom screw feeders, including troughs, and associated appurtenances, mounted to each leg ofthe Sludge Cake Storage Hopper; Furnishing and installation of two (2) temporary sludge bypass pipelines to the Receiving Bins; Converting the live bottom screw feeders DC electric drive system to an AC drive system on the Sludge Cake Storage Hopper and two (2) Receiving Bins; Furnishing and installation oftwo (2) interlocks on the knife gate valves ofthe Sludge Cake Storage Hopper; Replacement of two (2) ultrasonic level transmitters with two (2) radar level transmitters on the Sludge Cake Storage Hopper; Furnishing and installation of an air blast radar lens cleaning system on the Sludge Cake Storage Hopper and furnishing and installation ofpneumatic supply line; Furnishing and installation ofthe maintenance platforms for the screw feeders on the Sludge Cake Storage Hopper; Furnishing and installation of two (2) temporary sludge bypass pipelines to the Receiving Bins; Replacement offive (5) motor operated sludge cake piping ball valves, and appurtenant work associated with these replacements; Surface preparation and painting ofthe Sludge Storage Cake Storage Hopper; Project Location: River Road Wastewater Treatment Plant, 290 River Road, Princeton, NJ 08540; The project work will consist ofPhase 1 and Phase 2 to minimize downtime to plant operations. 1. Project Phase 1: 1.Removal and replacement oftwo (2) dual live bottom screw feeders, including troughs, in the Sludge Cake Storage Hopper and associated appurtenances such as: bearings, packing, belt drives, gear reducers, spur gear drives, chain drives. Replacement oftwo (2) DC motors, two (2) DC drives, and duplex control panel with two (2) AC motors, and duplex control panel with two (2) VFD drives. - Furnishing and installation of two (2) interlocks on the manually operated knife gate valves located in each leg of the Sludge Cake Storage Hopper upstream of Schwing Pumps 3 and 4 to prevent live bottom screws from running when gate is not in the open position. -Replacement ofsix (6) DC motors and six (6) DC drives with six (6) AC motors, six (6) VFD drives, and two (2) control panels, containing six (6) VFD drives on two (2) Receiving Bins - Replacement ofthe two (2) ultrasonic level transmitters with two (2) radar level transmitters in the Sludge Cake Storage Hopper. -Furnishing and installation of air blast radar lens cleaning system and associated pneumatic supply line in existing underground tunnel between Incinerator and Sludge Cake Receiving Buildings. -Furnishing and installation ofthe maintenance platforms for the screw feeders on the Sludge Cake Storage Hopper. -Furnishing and installation of new temporary bypass pipeline from Belt Filter Press #2 (tie-in from Incinerator Building garage) to Receiving Bin #1 and Belt Filter Press #1 (tie-in from Incinerator Building garage) to Receiving Bin #2 to allow sludge to be pumped to the Receiving Bins to Incinerator without interrupting plant operations during construction. -Replacement ofthe motorized high pressure ball valves MV-1, MV2, MV-3, MV-4 in Sludge Cake Building associated with discharge from Receiving Bins. -Replacement ofthe motorized high pressure ball valves MV-1, MV2, MV-3, MV-4 in Sludge Cake Building associated with discharge from Receiving Bins. -All required electrical and instrumentation work associated the above items, as shown on the drawings and described in the specifications. Project Phase 2: -Surface preparation and coating of a Sludge Cake Storage Hopper interior surface. - Surface preparation and coating of a Sludge Cake Storage Hopper exterior surface. Final Completion - 357 consecutive calendar days
