The contractor shall furnish all necessary equipment, labor, and material and permits required to complete the work including but not limited to a. Installation of sidewalk and curb ramps. b. Installation of pedestrian signal heads and associated foundations and cables. c. Installation of inductive loop sawcuts and cables. d. Furnishing and placement of thermoplastic pavement markings. All requests for interpretations related to this RFP must be submitted in writing to both Purchasing Manager and Traffic Engineer by 12:00 noon 4/3/2025 The project includes the following major items: Approximately 23.27 SY of concrete sidewalk, 23 concrete curb ramps (3new, and 20 remove and replace), 36pedestrian signal heads and associated foundations and cables, inductive loop saw cuts and cables, 1,846 LF of thermoplastic pavement marking lines, and 17 thermoplastic pavement marking symbols. General scope of improvements includes adding and/or updating the pedestrian accommodations, pedestrian signalization, and ADA compliance at the five intersections. Project is located along Sunset Avenue (US 64Bus.) at the designated existing signal locations of May Drive, Lee Street, Pine Street, Grace Street, and Franklin Street(US 301 Bus. South), Rocky Mount, NC27804. The City of Rocky Mount is seeking 10%Disadvantage Business Enterprise (DBE)goal on this project. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any informality. The City will not discriminate against any bidder submitting a bid because of race, creed, color, national origin or handicap. Bidders must conform to the provisions of the North Carolina Contractor'sLicensing Act of 1925, as amended. A Bid Security in the amount of five percent (5%) of the Bid must accompany each Bid a $500,000.00 or more. A 100% Performance Bond and 100%Payment Bond will be required from the successful bidder or any bids$300,000.00 or more. Bids for this project shall be guaranteed by all bidders for a period of 60 calendar days following the bid opening. See Attachment D for more information regarding bonding requirements.
